Lee Hal Stoddard passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in the same home he was born in.
Hal was born on April 3, 1935 in Hooper, UT to O. Lee and Flora Stoddard.
He married Joyce Cook in the Logan Temple on March 30, 1962. They were blessed with 3 children, Lindsay and Leann Stoddard, Chad and Kris Stoddard, and Nicole and Rod Mecham. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Hal was a graduate of Weber High School, Utah State University and also attended Weber State College.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a strong testimony and loved the Savior. He served in the Western States Mission as a young man and then he and Joyce served in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission where he was a Teamster. He loved both missions and the friends he made there. He also worked in the Ogden Temple for many years.
Hal loved meeting and talking to people. Strangers often became his friends and he could find something or someone in common with just about anyone.
He loved music and was the owner of the Hoopernacle pipe organ barn. He loved to have both friends and strangers come and hear and play the pipe organ. For many years he had Christmas programs in the barn that were open to everyone. He loved barbershop harmony and sang with the Beehive Statesmen chorus for 43 years.
He was proud to own a Utah century farm where he raised beef and dairy cattle.
Hal was always kind and treated everyone with love and respect. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, Don Stoddard, Ken Stoddard, Denzil Hansen and, Bob Hansen. He is survived by his wife, children, 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
