Leilani Chase Obituary (1941 - 2024)

Lei Lani Jeanne Chase Lei Lani Jeanne Chase, born on October 20, 1941, in Minot, North Dakota, to Basil Hard and Floreen (Hard) Murphy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She is reunited with her parents who preceded her in death and is now in their loving embrace. She is survived by her six children and their spouses: - Audrey Walker (spouse David) - Alan Chase (spouse Donna) - Diane Stoddard (spouse Brent) - Brian Chase (spouse Bonnie) - Crystal Chase - Melody Chase Lei Lani also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her younger sister, Kathryne Johnson, who will cherish her memory. As a young Navy wife, Lei Lani lived in various states including Connecticut, Virginia, Mississippi, California, North Dakota, Utah, Hawaii, Washington, and Idaho. Later she spent three years living in England. Despite the many moves, she created a loving home wherever she went. Lei Lani graduated from Palouse High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in accounting from Washington State University. She later graduated from Utah State University with a master's degree in accounting and earned her CPA certification. She worked for the US Air Force as an auditor for 25 years before retiring. One of Lei Lani's defining characteristics was her patience and kindness, which she extended to everyone she met. She was an excellent pianist and organist, playing for her church with dedication and skill. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, genealogy, square dancing, and country music. She also had a deep love for her children and grandchildren, always putting their needs before her own. Lei Lani cherished game nights and movie nights with her kids, creating countless cherished memories. Lei Lani was a strong and independent woman who put herself through school as a single mother of six children. She served as a wonderful example to her children, teaching them independence and resilience through her own actions. Despite her fear of swimming, she ensured all her children learned how to swim. She was a loving daughter to her mother, who lived with her for many years, and she had a deep commitment to her church and community. Lei Lani's deep commitment to the Lord was evident in her daily life and interactions with others. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Symbii Hospice for their compassionate care, which allowed her family to keep Lei Lani comfortable in her home during her final days. Lei Lani Jeanne Chase was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11 AM at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W., Roy, Utah. Friends and family may visit prior to the funeral that same day from 9:45 to 10:45 AM.
