LELA JOHNSON HARRISON
July 11, 1924 - September 13, 2007

ROY - Lela Harrison, age 83, died peacefully at her home in South Ogden due to age related complications. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by family and friends.

Lela was born in Smoot Wyoming to Cleo and Harry Johnson. She attended Star Valley High school in Afton Wyoming. During WWII, Lela married LaDell Harrison in the Salt Lake City Temple. They lived on the farm in Osmond, Wyoming.

In 1951, LaDell won one of the last homestead drawings in the Continental United States and moved to North Portal, Riverton Wyoming. Lela and LaDell worked as a devoted couple to run the farm and raise their children. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a long time member of the Progressive Women's Club. In 1965, the family moved to Roy, Utah where LaDell gained employment at Hill Air Force Base. She was actively involved in the Roy 14th Ward.

Throughout her life Lela was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother, and good friend. She spent many years as a primary caregiver for her mother and husband. Lela was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Donald Johnson. Lela was blessed to have loving family and friends to associate with during her life. She especially enjoyed the love and devotion of her grandson, Daeton McCullough. He was the primary caregiver for many years, and provided great comfort and companionship for his dear Grandmother.

She is survived by one brother, Rex Johnson, and her sister Helen Bruce. Her children are KaDell (Harry) Harrison, Wynn Harrison, Cindy Getz and Pam Petersen. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grand children.

A special thank you to Hospice Alliance, Dr. Phil, and all the nursing and aid people who gave such loving and gentle care to a wonderful person.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy 14th LDS Ward Chapel, 5080 south 3100 west, Roy. Family will greet friends Monday from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m., at the church, prior to the services. Services under the direction of Myers Roy Mortuary.

Interment at the Roy City Cemetery.
