Leo Albert Milligan

–

Kaysville, UT

"Leo Albert Milligan, Jr peacefully entered the Spirit World to be with his wife of 67 years Thursday evening, June 21, 2016. Leo was nearly 94 years old and is a veteran of WWII who served in the pacific theater, including service on the embattled island of Iwo Jima. He was the second of 5 children and is survived by his older sister, Marilyn, 97. Leo was born in Buffalo, New York August 13, 1922 to Leo A. Milligan Sr. and Julia G. Myers Milligan. His beloved mother, Julia died in childbirth just two years after he was born. After returning from military service, Leo attended Canisius College and later graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelors' degree in business and marketing. He was the first in his family to graduate from college. He later returned to university studies to earn a Master's of Business Administration degree, in great measure to set an example for his children. As a result of that, all of his kids have received college degrees. He met and married his beautiful companion of 67 years, Victoria "Jan" Sully in 1949 and they are the parents of 6 children: Maureen (deceased), Michael, Colleen, Mark, Patrick and Lee. Leo was a successful businessman and an extraordinary leader but the joy he received and the passion that he was committed to was his children (6), grandchildren (22) and great-grandchildren (29). Leo always said "friends will come and friends will go, but families are forever". He was a faithful Latter Day Saint who served a couples mission to San Antonio, Texas and another as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah LDS Temple with his sweetheart Jan. Until the end of his life, Leo was always the funniest man in the room, the most positive person imaginable and he and Jan loved to laugh and celebrate. He and Jan loved each other dearly and could not bear to be apart. It is therefore not at all surprising that they were only separated by 3 months. You're our hero Daddy. "Families and forever" and we know that we will all be together as an Eternal Family".
