LEO J. PENMAN

HOOPER - Leo J. Penman, 80, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2001.

He was born December 30, 1920 in Hooper, Utah, the son of Edward and Ida Jones Penman.

He married Lucille Marion Hardy on February 16, 1942. She passed away in January 1981.

He worked at Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic for 30 years and sheared sheep for 50 years. He loved farming the land and enjoyed planting his garden and sharing the vegetables with family and friends. He enjoyed rock hunting, cutting rocks for jewelry, lapidary and swapping stories with friends. His goal was to live long enough to celebrate his 80th birthday and to see the 2002 Olympics. With his witty sense of humor, he often told us he had taken a drive to the Hooper Cemetery to see who his new neighbors were.

Surviving are three sons and four daughters, Ed (Beppie) Penman, Keith Penman, both of Hooper; Mike (Kelly) Penman, Willard; Marion (Dale) Johnston, Kaysville; Linda (Bryan) Leif, Layton; Joyce (Hal) Phillips, Zillah WA; Kathy (Roger) Bomar, Mellington, TN; 15 grandchildren, six step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving, his sister, Meba Kaye Smith, Salt Lake City.

His parents, brother, James Penman, sister, Margarette Child and one grandson preceded him in death.

The family would like to Thank Heritage Park Care Center for all their wonderful care.
