L. Bernice Curtis Click here to listen to Funeral Recording West Haven - Leoma Bernice Nef Curtis, 90, passed away February, 18, 2012. She was born May 12, 1921 in Rexburg, Idaho to Emil and Eva Lenora Johnson Nef. Bernice was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to Birmingham, AL in 1979. She also served in various church callings. She spent 25 years of service in name extraction, which she thoroughly believed in and strengthened her everlasting testimony. Bernice married Joseph Hiram Curtis on March 4, 1940 in Rexburg. They were married almost 52 years before he passed away in February of 1992. Bernice enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and reading. She is survived by two sons and 4 daughters, LaVal Curtis (Ruth), Eleanor Morris (Bob), Nancy Barfuss (Paul), Emily Neese (Don), Jerry Curtis (Bonnie) and Marva Jennings (Paul); 27 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings, Relda McGary (Leroy), Belva Garner (Lloyd) and Arnold Nef (Leta). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Dorothy Smith and 3 brothers, Darrel, Norman and Weldon Nef. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Regal Country Ward, 3939 West 4000 South, West Haven, UT where a viewing will be held prior to the service from 12 to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA. The family would like to thank Gardens Assisted Living, Curo Hospice Group, Peach Tree Place and all her friends and family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humanitarian Aid/LDS Church. Arrangements entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary.
