West Haven/Laketown - Leon Barney Wright, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2013. Leon was born September 5, 1942 in Ogden, Utah to Ada Belle Barney and Leonard Wright. He graduated from Ogden High School and was a member of the LDS Church.

Leon married Denice Rogerson in 1961; they had two children and later divorced. He married Janis "Joey" Monjar in 1975 and they had two children.

Leon enjoyed being with his family, hunting, fishing, and camping, riding his 4 wheelers, motorcycles and horses; he also was good with his hands doing shop work .

Leon retired from UDOT after many years of service.

Leon is survived by his daughter, Kristy Kranendonk, of West Point; 3 sons, Randy (Cari) Wright of Riverdale, Gage Wright of Ogden and Jed Wright of Phoenix, AZ; 2 granddaughters, Madison and Miya Wright; 1 great-granddaughter, Kaylee Kranendonk; also survived by 6 brothers, Loren (Shirleen) of Washington Terrace, Ray (Chris) of Washington Terrace, Gene (Ginny) of Oahu, HI, Steve (Kathy) of Sunset, Russell (Mary) of Ogden and Duane (Karen) of Ogden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice "Joey"; grandson, Sean Kranendonk, cousin and best friend, Jerry Barney; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family would like to thank Judy Barney and her family for their friendship and care of Leon over the years, Stoney Brooks, CNS and Mt. Ogden Care Center.
