FARR WESTa"Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend, Leona Mae Pauly Bassett, passed peacefully to the other side into the waiting arms of her husband and family, August 16, 2002, after a brief struggle with cancer. She will be missed by all that knew her.

She married Halbert A. Bassett in Los Angeles, California on August 9, 1942. She was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1943. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1948.

They moved to Ogden in 1946 where she was a member of the 56th and Lorin Farr Wards and later moved to Farr West, where she was an active member of the Farr West 1st Ward. She served in the Relief Society presidency and was a diligent visiting teacher for many years of her life.

She leaves behind a legacy of hard work and unselfish service to others. Whenever she could help she would. She was well known for her beautiful quilting.

A special thanks to all of her friends and acquaintances who showed their love and to the hospice workers for their help and concern.
