Leona Marjorie Ropelato
November 17, 1942 - December 30, 2015

Leona (Lee) Ropelato passed away peacefully at age 73, surrounded by her many loving family and friends, at McKay Dee Hospital on December 30, 2015. Our loving mother was born November 17, 1942 in Ogden, UT, the daughter of Merlin LeRoy and Marjorie Joice Reardon, she was the fourth child of ten.

She married Eugene Ropelato on April 2, 1964, at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. They were married for an amazing 40 years. Lee was a devoted Catholic. Her spirit always shined brightly within her and she shared that light with everyone.

Lee graduated from Weber High and Weber State University. She was an engineer working on boosters at Thiokol, Hercules, and Western Zirconium. She was an intelligent engineer and was very proud of her accomplishments.

Lee was an amazing, joyful, and loving person. She always had an open house for anyone that needed a home. Her favorite thing was sharing a cup of coffee with people visiting her home.

She had the opportunity to help raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren and wouldn't have traded those memories for anything. All of the kids had a safe home with Grandma Lee.

She leaves behind her four Kids: Rob Ropelato, Lynnette (Doug) Gilbert, Troy (Tami) Ropelato, and Mike (Jessica) Ropelato; 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Also surviving are her siblings, Jeanene (Richard) Herrera, Roylene (Jay) Schumer, Rick (Christy) Reardon. As all of us know, she also leaves behind many, many adopted children, grandchildren, and family.

She has been reunited with her loving husband, Eugene Ropelato; Father and Mother, Merlin and Marjorie Reardon; her brothers, Merlin, Orin, Leroy, Jim, Bob, and Jack Reardon.

Viewings will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm with a Rosary at 7 p.m. and Friday, January 8th prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd.

Funeral services and Mass will be held on Friday, January 8th at 11 am. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, Utah.
