LEONARD "CHIEF" FRIEDEL
TACLLO-4
SLATERVILLE - Leonard G. Friedel passed away peacefully at his home October 30, 2006.
Leonard was born March 23, 1942 in Toledo, OH to Leonard and Carmen Friedel.
Never giving up, Pops was an inspiration to us all. Choosing to leave this earth living every moment, Dad continued to do all he could for his friends and family. Better days would have found Pops hunting and fishing with his son, grandsons, and friends, enjoying the outdoors, and loving life. Lenny's work ethic was admired by all! The "get it done" attitude was largely appreciated in his 45 years of federal service. Lenny entered the U.S.A.F. in July 1961. His career in the Air Force was dedicated to Phablous Phantom II (F-4). He was a crew chief, flight chief, expeditor and quality specialist. Retiring from the military, Lenny was seen as a "Chief" rather than an E-9; he was always taking care of his people and bleeding Air Force Blue. His company will be missed by all, especially the "Phantoms Phorever" clan, the "Thursday Thinkers" at Moore's, his hunting and fishing partners, and all the Grandkids that could talk him out of anything!
Pops was the father that said "That's what dad's are for" when you thanked him for helping - Love ya Pops!
Preceded in death by Leonard Friedel (father); Don Friedel (brother).
Survived by wife Maryanne (Toots); two sons Leonard J. and Robert A. (Tiffany); daughter Yvonne M.; Grandchildren Jennifer, David, A.J., Andrea, Kelton, and Kayla. Pops you are loved very much and will be truly missed.
