Leonard Benson Sorensen

North Ogden - Leonard Benson Sorensen, 82, died September 2, 2010 in Ogden surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 15, 1927 in Spring City, Utah to David Leonard and Geneva Benson Sorensen. He married Donna LaQuitta Fogelberg November 12, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

Leonard served his country during WWII and Korea War, he was in the Army 2 years and the Navy 4 years.

He was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a MM of Blue Lodge Golden Spike #6; a Shriner and a Klunker; he was also a member of Scottish and York Rite; OES where he was PP of Mt. Chapter; White Shrine where he was PWOS and he was PAG #14 and 11 of IOJD's.

Leonard collected fire trucks, enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Donna; children, Warren (Cheryl), Wayne, Dean (Jenny), Annette, LaQuitta (Kirk), LeaOtta (Danny), Frances (Chris); 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings, Perry (Kim), Myrle (Ralph), Earl (Frances), Glen (Pat), Mary (Ray), Lynda (Fred) and Wesley (Janet) and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Russell Lee.

Funeral services with Masonic Rites will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 140 No. Tyler Ave. with Rev. David Stellmon and WM Chris Davis officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, Sept. 9th at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 5:30 to 8:00 pm and Friday at the church from 1:00 to 1:45 pm.

Interment at Ben Lomond Cemetery.
