Lia Brown

Lia Bareiss Brown - mother, sister, and kind friend, passed away gracefully on Monday, October 3, 2022. She was born June 11, 1925, in Schorndorf, Germany to Johann and Maria Degele Bareiss.
She married Elery Lee Brown, October 28, 1948, in Bamberg, Germany. She came to the United States in December 1948 and became a United States Citizen in 1952.
Lia worked for many years as a seamstress at the Utah Tailoring Mill in Ogden, Utah. She will be remembered for her love of people, kindness to others, and dedication to family.
She took tremendous pride in being a United States Citizen and was an active participant in the election process.
Lia is survived by her daughter Tanya Schankel and her partner Jeff Summers, daughter-in-law Stacy Brown, and grandchildren Michael Brown, Kathryn Mann and husband Ryan Mann, Austin Schankel, Taylor Fairchild, and great grandchild Phoebe Mann.
Preceded in death is her beloved son Michael Brown, and her dear sisters and brothers, Hans, Maria, Elsa Bareiss, Willie and Arthur Degele.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to A Plus Hospice for the outstanding care and compassion they provided to Lia.
A private service will be held in the summer of 2023.
