Lisa Dale Wahlen Sorensen
January 8, 1960 – September 16, 2026

Lisa Dale Wahlen Sorensen, 66, passed away on September 16, 2026, in St. George, Utah, leaving behind a family who loved her beyond words and a space that simply cannot be filled.

Lisa was born on January 8, 1960, in Ogden, Utah, to Dale and Sharon Wahlen. She spent much of her childhood growing up in California, where she developed a lifelong love for the beach. No matter where life took her, the ocean remained her happy place. There were few things she loved more than sunshine, the beach, and having her family there beside her.

Lisa raised her boys, Daniel and Gabriel, in Ogden before making Mantua, Utah, her home for the past 20 years. She spent her career in social work, which was fitting for someone who had such a natural ability to listen, understand, comfort, and care for people. But of all the roles Lisa filled throughout her life, being a mother and grandmother meant the most to her.

Lisa shared her sons, Daniel and Gabriel, with their father, Steve Guglietti. For the past 24 years, she was happily married to Kevin Sorensen, and together they brought their families together into a large, blended family that became such an important part of Lisa’s life. She loved each of her children fiercely and treasured the family they shared.

Lisa was funny, kind, forgiving, fierce, intuitive, wise, playful, empathetic, and deeply loving. She had a way of making people feel safe. She could make a friend just about anywhere and became a sounding board for anyone who needed someone to listen. You could bring your problems to Lisa without fear of judgment. She would listen, love you exactly where you were, and somehow find the words that made everything feel a little less heavy.

As a mother, Lisa’s love was unconditional. There was no judgment and never any question that she would be there when her family needed her. Even when she was dealing with physical pain of her own, she would push through it to make sure the people she loved were okay and could still feel her presence and her love. Her family always came first.

As a grandmother, Lisa found one of the greatest joys of her life. Her grandchildren were her world and her priority. She played with them, laughed with them, loved on them, and was famous for her “tickle beatings,” which had a tendency to turn into full-on wrestling matches.

Her big bed became a place where anyone and everyone was welcome—a small thing that said so much about who Lisa was. There was always room. Room to climb in, room to talk, room to laugh, room to be comforted, and room to simply be close to her.

Lisa shared a special bond with each of her grandchildren, and she and her granddaughter Rosemary shared a particularly special relationship. Their connection was something uniquely their own and something that will remain an important part of Rose forever.

Lisa loved her dogs, being creative, collecting things, sunshine, hearing kids playing, and simply knowing that the people she loved were doing okay. Her faith was important to her, as was the happiness and well-being of the people around her.

She was generous with what she had and even more generous with her affection, attention, advice, and love. She was always there when someone needed her and seemed to know exactly what to say to put a worried mind at ease.

She will be deeply missed for her hugs, her laughter, her playful sense of humor, her peaceful advice, and her ability to comfort just about anyone without ever making them feel judged. Most of all, her family will miss simply knowing that Lisa was there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Sharon Wahlen, and her beloved grandchildren, Silas Guglietti and Nevaeh Wilkes.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Sorensen; her children, Daniel Guglietti, Gabriel (Whitney) Guglietti, Sheena (Shawn) Dickey, Shalea Sorensen, Quinn (Maegan) Sorensen, Taryn Sorensen, and Tiauna (Parker) Guerra; her siblings, Debbie (Craig) Broswell, Janna Wahlen, Melinda (Gary) Kockler, and Mark (Sharla) Glassman; and her grandchildren, Rosemary Guglietti, Edenelle Guglietti, Ivan Guglietti, Kara Guglietti, Kai Guglietti, Sevyn Sorensen, Saylem Dickey, Syla Dickey, Wyatt Gallegos, Que Sorensen, Cru Sorensen, Dax Guerra, Haddie Guerra, and Lucy Guerra.

There is no simple way to sum up a life that meant so much to so many people. Lisa loved fiercely and without conditions. She made people laugh. She listened. She forgave. She comforted. She made people feel welcome. She showed up.

She loved her family with everything she had.

That love is what they will carry with them.
