Lois R. Hill Sickles

OGDEN - Lois R. Hill Sickles, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend completed her earthly mission on June 1, 2008.

We little knew that God was going to call your name today. In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone. For a part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us with many memories your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you, you will always be on our side. Our family chain has been broken and nothing seems the same, but God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Lois was born March 7, 1924 in Brigham City, UT to Alma Dairl Hill and Jenny Mae Lee Hill, the first of three children. She attended schools in California and graduated with her class in Vallejo, CA. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1987. She met the love of her life in California, Edward Sickles. They were married in August 1942 in Reno, NV. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 19, 2004. They moved to the Ogden area in 1945 where they raised seven children.

She is survived by a daughter, Diana Byington; 5 sons, Edward (Yolanda), Richard, Larry (Jeanette), Paul, Jack; one sister, Emajean (Ted) Stephens, one brother, Dean (Karen) Hill; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter; her husband; 2 grandsons; one great-grandson and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Lois was a very loving and caring woman and will be greatly missed.
