Lola Winona Irwin Obituary (1915 - 2004)

Lola Winona Irwin Lola Winona Brantley Sanford Irwin passed away June 14, 2004. She was born November 14, 1915 in Shell Knob, MO to Charles Sherman and Anna Mae Cooper Brantley Lola married at age 18 to Millard Sanford and they settled in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. They later relocated to California. During WWII Lola worked as a Fire Stoker at the Round House for the railroad. After the war she was a cook at Tejon School. She loved to cook! While living in Southern California she worked for Cannon Electric, a deburring shop, Aerojet General during the race for space and McDonnell Douglas from which she retired in 1975. Her constant companion after the loss of her husband, until 1994, was her beloved dog, Coco. In 1994 Lola moved to Utah to be near her daughter. She lived a long and loving life and saw many changes. She is survived by her son, J. C. (Judy) Sanford; daughter, Jo Yvonne (Chad) Bowles; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and cousin, Evelyn McConnell, 94, of Brea, CA.
