Lorene Becker

–

Layton, Utah

Lorene Irene Amada Mora Becker, affectionately known as Lori, was a spirited and resilient soul, whose light shone brightly in the lives of all who knew her. Born in Monte Vista, Colorado on January 3, 1943, she lived a life full of adventure, love, and laughter. She later married John Becker June 6, 1964. Lorene's zest for life was palpable, a flame that could not be extinguished. Her spirit was as vast as the Colorado skies under which she was born, and as enduring as the Utah mountains where she made her home.

Lorene was a woman of many talents, and she poured her resilience into everything she did. Her career as a laborer at G.S.C. Foundries allowed her to showcase her strength, while her time at the turkey processing plant and the Marquart Corporation Cutter lab displayed her determination. Lorene's spirit was also evident in her pastimes. She enjoyed camping, boating, riding 4-wheelers and going on car rides. She was a formidable participant in bowling leagues, bringing her competitive nature to the lanes. But her favorite hobby by far was spending time with her loved ones. She was a proud alumna of Hopkins Elementary, Central Jr. High, and Ben Lomond High School, and her love for community and connection was a testament to her vibrant spirit.

In every phase of her life, Lorene demonstrated resilience and spirit, from her early days in Colorado to her final years in Layton, Utah. She was a beacon of light in her community and an anchor in her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Becker, her parents Sam and Tony Garcia Mora, sister Pauline Lopez, and her brother Freddy Mora.

Lori is survived by her children Collette (Mitch) Cole, Scott (Jennifer) Becker, sister Jerri Torres, her grandchildren Tiffany (Robin) Finch, Kamas Cole (Jorge) Ferreira, Shawnee (Kelton) Waite, Shelly (Jessie) Hendrickson, Kambri & (Chase) Nelson, Jonathan Schenk, Josh (Shay) Cole, Riley Cole, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
