Lorenzo Jesus Rosas Obituary (1939 - 2012)

LORENZO JESUS ROSAS Lorenzo Rosas, a father, husband and friend to us all passed away peacefully on 30 May 2012 in the home he shared with his wife, the love of his life. Although confined to a wheelchair for the last 26 years he never allowed this disability to limit him in the many projects he had over the years including building trailers, welding and working with electronics. He was a man that will always be known for giving all he had to help a family member in need. He enjoyed life, music, motorcycles and above all he recognized the importance of family and taught us that our children are the meaning of existence. Although he is gone he will most certainly never be forgotten, we will miss his smile, laugh and phone calls for no other reason than to just say hi. He was born to Jesus Castro Rosas and Ramona Gallegos Rosas on 13 October 1939. He married Helen Naranjo and was later divorced. He married Mary Burgess Tallerico on 13 September 1980. Lorenzo is survived by his wife, Mary, his mother, Ramona English, of Ogden UT. He is also survived by two brothers, Paul (Anita), of Ogden and Robert (Carol) of Folsom CA, sister, Maria Christina (Bernd) Neumann of Pinole CA, daughters, Lori Ann (Michael) Trujillo of Denver, Rita Rosas of Phoenix AZ and Michele (Jesus) Oseguera of Ogden. He is also survived by three step-children, Diane Hugie, of Ogden, Sherry (Tony) Bland, of Las Vegas and Roger Dee (Jamie) Tallerico of North Ogden. He has 15 grandchildren who he loved dearly. His father, his brother Johnny, his grandparents and grandson Justin Mata preceded him in death. He worked at Hill Air Force Base and took a medical retirement after his accident. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed having the sacrament brought to him at home each Sunday. He also loved his Home Teacher, Bishop Carl Wiese who visited him faithfully every month for the past several years. It was Lorenzo's wish to be cremated. His memorial service will be held on 9th June 2012 at the Sullivan Hollow First Ward located at 976-33rd Street, Ogden UT at 2 pm.
