Lorna Louise Byington Potts Obituary (1933 - 2009)

Lorna Louise Potts OGDEN Lorna Louise Byington Potts passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Crestwood Care Center. Lorna was born October 29, 1933 in Uintah, Utah to parents James Byington and Dena Kranendonk. She was raised in Hooper where she met the love of her life Marvin J. Potts. Lorna and Marvin were married June 18, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They resided in West Ogden. He preceded her in death July 10, 2003. Lorna enjoyed spending her time going to dinner and movies with her sisters and crocheting and embroidering blankets and booties for her loved ones. Grandma was infamous for sticking the "oh so good" pink peppermint in your mouth for enjoyment. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many Leadership positions. She is proud of her family whom survive her; sisters: Arlene Randall, Lois Knight, Donna Hamblin, Shirley Ray; children: Douglas (Vicki) Potts, Lorrie (Wesley) Woodruff Jr., David (Cindy) Potts, Christine Sandoval, Debra Pacheco, Sharene House, Steven (Betzi) Potts and Dena Rivas; 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Friends may call on Friday, January 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Hooper City Cemetery.
