Louise Berrett Daniels, 86, our sweet and courageous mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, returned to her loving Father in Heaven on January 20, 2014. We are comforted to know that a sweet reunion took place with many loved ones who have passed on before and she is now dancing in heaven.
Louise was born in Ogden, Utah on August 27, 1927 to Donald T. Berrett and Georgina Berniece Robb. She attended the North Ogden School through 10th grade where she served as a Student Body Officer and went on to graduate from Weber High School in 1946.
Beginning at a young age mom was faced with many physical health challenges which she never let define her, never complaining, realizing that every day was "a gift."
She married Lee Daniels on June 6, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. Before marrying Lee, and for a year after, she worked at Quality Fabric Center and Sewing Machine Exchange until retiring to become a full time mother and homemaker where she taught her children many important values they have used throughout their lives.
She was a devoted, faithful member of the LDS church, where she served in many callings in the Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School, her favorites being the Jr. Sunday School Coordinator, and Relief Society teacher. Her strong testimony of the gospel and our Savior Jesus Christ never waivered. Mom spent many hours in selfless service to others at the church welfare cannery, making and binding quilts, crocheting hangers, hot pads and afghans, volunteering at North Ogden Elementary Bookmobile, as well as many other acts of kindness.
Mom's positive attitude and sociable nature resulted in many lifelong friendships; being a friend to everyone she met. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed sharing stories about her ancestors. She was never able to travel around the world but loved to read and always said, "you can go anywhere in a book."
She is survived by her children, Kevin and Cyndy Daniels, Gwen and Mike Orton, Sally and Kent Linsley, Mark Daniels and Mops (the only dog she ever loved). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robb (Judy) Berrett and Richard Berrett, sister-in-law, Elaine Roylance and brother-in-law, Perry Slater. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee, parents and grandparents, step-mother, Agnes Berrett, sister, Marian Slater, baby brother, Earl A. Berrett, and step-brother, Larry Roylance.
Her family would like to express a special thanks to the Gardens Assisted Living, Quail Meadow Assisted Living and their staff. We would especially like to thank LaDawn and Kaitlyn for being our special angels the last few days of mom's life.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at the North Ogden 5th Ward Chapel, 626 E. 2600 N. in North Ogden. A viewing will be held for family and friends on Friday from 6 to 8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:40 am at the church.
Interment will be at the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
