Luanna Kindred Fowers Obituary (1925 - 2011)

LuAnna Kindred Fowers HOOPER - LuAnna Kindred Fowers, loving matriarch of our family, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011. She was born October 7, 1925 in American Fork, Utah, a daughter of Ross Bird and Zella Clark Kindred. She was raised in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School. On November 22, 1943 she married her best friend and eternal companion, Carl G. Fowers, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 54 years before his passing on November 22, 1997. LuAnna was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings in the Stake and Ward Relief Society, Ward Primary, and was a Visiting Teacher. She and her husband also served in the Mississippi Jackson Mission, and as Temple Workers in the Ogden Temple. She was involved with the Weber County Young Farmers, Farm Bureau, and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, eating out, and especially loved spending time with her family. She exemplified her calling as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her example will always be cherished by her family. LuAnna is survived by her children; Linda (Brent) Thurgood, Blaine (Peggy) Fowers, Rulon (Kathleen) Fowers, Don (Janette) Fowers, all of Hooper, and Carol (Chris) Toone, Hyrum, 25 grandchildren, and 43 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Wilma K. Butters, and brother, Fred Kindred. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents, sister, Wanda Green; 3 grandsons and 1 great-grandson. The family would like to give a special thanks to Brandy Moon and CNS Hospice. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hooper 1st Ward, 5601 South 6100 West, Hooper, Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., prior to services at the church.
