Lucille Weaver Deem, formerly of Huntsville, Utah, died peacefully at the age of 99 with her 5 daughters around her, on November 20, 2011, at Beehive Homes in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was born March 11, 1912, to James Albert and Dollie Cook Weaver in Perry, Utah. She was the first of three children, Lucille, Duane, and Della.
She graduated from Box Elder High School.
Lucille married Parley Golden Deem on December 6, 1930, and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple. They shared 49 years of marriage before he died in 1980. They were the parents of five girls; Norma Christensen (Boyd) of New Castle, Utah; Shirley Engstrom (Jerald) of Huntsville, Utah; Elenore Christensen (Scott) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Marilyn Steele (Robert) of Lindon, Utah; and ParCeil Valora (Peter) of Teton, Idaho. Parley and Lucille had 29 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She gave service all her life to the gospel of Jesus Christ and many friends and neighbors that lived around her. She was especially noted for her organizational and secretarial skills.
As we think about our MotherAAA 1/2s life, we are filled with the knowledge that her liveliness and indomitable spirit will be appreciated as she reunites with Daddy and all her loved ones. They will recognize her and welcome her home. Her frail little body will once again be vigorous and alert.
She lived with Daddy in their early married life in several places in Utah. They moved to California in 1952, where they worked and loved the warm California sunshine. When they retired in 1972, they moved to Huntsville, Utah, in the summer months and then spent the winters in Mesa, Arizona. After Daddy died, she continued spending the winter months in Arizona. She lived in Huntsville until she was no longer able to live by herself.
