Lucy Whitear Smith Obituary (1921 - 2001)

OGDEN - Lucy Whitear Smith, 79, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father August 10, 2001 peacefully at her home. She was born Nov 2, 1921 in Peterson, Utah to Albert and Clara Whitear. She married Floyd B. Smith on August 27, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 58 years, and her children, Steven (Pat) Smith, Plain City; LouJean (Scott) Carter, Mapleton; Kevin (Launa) Smith, South Jordan; and LeAnn Smith, Provo; she is survived by 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother; and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters. Lucy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She gave many hours of service in the Relief Society, Primary and Mutual presidencies. She loved going to girls camp, working with the youth and writing road shows.
