Lyle Peterson

–

Roy, Utah

Lyle H. Peterson, 78, passed away April 21, 2026 at his home with family by his side, after a long battle with dementia. He was born March 12, 1948 to Herbert John and Wanda Simpson Peterson in Ogden, Utah. He married LaRae Child on December 5, 1969 in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They spent their 56 years living in the same house in Roy, all but, a few years while on their LDS mission. He attended Hooper Elementary, Roy Jr. High, two years at Weber High and was part of the first graduating class of the new Roy High School in 1966.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served the Lord faithfully in many positions, he fulfilled two full time missions; one in the Southern States mission and another along side his wife in the Utah Salt Lake City Headquarters mission. Lyle and LaRae lived in the Roy 2nd ward for 56 years where they were blessed to serve along side many faithful saints, who became their lifelong friends and examples. One of their favorite things was to attend the temple together to do work for their family. After graduating from Weber state college, he provided for his family as a manufacturing engineer in many manufacturing companies; including, Iomega, Morton Thiokol, and retired from Fresenius Medical in 2015.

He enjoyed all the wonderful people he worked with during his career. He was a long-standing member of the Riverside Men’s association, and golfed with many of his dearest friends. He always enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, and gardening. He found great joy creating relationships with those he served and those he served with. His greatest joy came when he was able to bless someone through his service. What mattered most to Lyle, was his family, and his faith in Jesus Christ.
