Lynn William Harrison
Lynn William Harrison, 80ish, finished his final merit badge "Mortality", then packed his spiritual scout backpack and headed to Camp Celestial on November 20, 2016. He was born on September 5, 1935 at the early hour of 6 a.m. in Hunter, UT to John and Lucille Afton Williams Harrison. He was the caboose of the family with 2 older brothers and 5 older sisters. Lynn graduated from Cyprus High in 1953.
He was an accomplished singer and sang in a men's quartet at many social gatherings throughout the Salt Lake Valley area. He served an honorable mission to the Central America Mission in Guatemala. After his mission, he attended the University of Utah and received his teaching degree. He then moved to Ogden to teach for a number of years.
Lynn was always an active, service oriented member of the LDS Church. He served in almost every calling possible on a ward level. He was especially known for his dedication to the Scouting Program, serving in many leadership callings. Lynn was a quiet, humble man with a good sense of humor. Lynn never married, but there were plenty of women through the years that tried to persuade him otherwise. Lynn never had any children either, but there were hundreds of scouting boys that thought of him like he was their Dad. Lynn lived the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America throughout his life.
Lynn is survived by his niece, Carolyn Gray of Sacramento, CA.
