Mable Elizabeth Fuller Burns Obituary (1922 - 2007)

Mable Elizabeth Burns 8/11/23 - 9/20/07 "Together Again" NORTH OGDEN - Mable Elizabeth Fuller Burns died on the morning of Sept. 20, 2007, in North Ogden, UT, of congestive heart failure. She was born in Eden, Ogden Valley, Utah, on August 11, 1923, to Clyde R. Fuller and Sarah E. Cramer. Her mother died shortly after Mable's birth and she was raised by her aunts: Chloe A. Fuller, Dora E. Fuller, and Annabelle Wilson. She attended Eden Primary School, Weber High School, and Weber Academy. During WWII, Mable worked at the Ogden Defense Depot both in the infirmary and as a welder. On Sept. 29, 1943 she married Leith E. (Bob) Burns in the Salt Lake Temple. They started their life in North Ogden, Utah, and stayed there for the remaining 64 years, raising 4 children: Jerold E. Burns (Karen) of Pleasant View; Alan C. Burns (Linda) of Clemson, SC; Mary Ann Burns (David), of Manassas, VA; and Gordon L. Burns (Susan) of North Ogden. She volunteered consistently with various civic associations and PTA's. She held continuous callings in the LDS church: Sunday School, Primary, Relief Society and Scouts. She loved to take care of her family, both immediate and extended and her home was always a gracious and comfortable place to visit, especially her beautiful backyard beneath Ben Lomond's shadow. She wrote thoughtful church lessons, sewed clothing, crocheted and knitted blankets, created ceramic dolls and baked delicious rolls, pies and cookies. She loved beautiful scenery and driving trips to enjoy the wonders of the Utah, Idaho and Wyoming Mountains. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four siblings: Cleora Olsen, Norman Fuller, Anna Naomi Fuller, and Mary Velma Dabb. She is survived by her four children, their spouses; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at the Mtn. View Cemetery, Eden, UT.
