Mae White Parent
SUNSET - Mae White Parent, 85, passed away on Wednesday September 7, 2011, surrounded by her family. Mae was born January 13, 1926, in Ogden, Utah, to John G. and Clara Erwin White. Mae married Joseph Anthony Parent II August 18, 1942.
Mae worked hard throughout her life, where she farmed; she worked at her father's bakery, The White's Community Bakery, in Ogden; she worked for the school lunch program , and she worked for 15 years at Hill Air Force Base doing various jobs, but her cooking there was complimented the most. Mae was proud of the John G. White Park in Sunset, that her father donated the land, because of his love for children. Mae loved flowers and her magnolia tree, and spent all her spare time in her yard keeping it beautiful.
Mae was a member of the L.D.S. Church and attended the 5th ward in Sunset. Mae had many talents and hobbies. She kept her mind very sharp doing crossword puzzles everyday with her best friend, Wren Clark, and she loved watching her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Shane Parent (grandson), daughter Gerri, and son Bill for making the last months of Mae's life comfortable.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph Anthony Parent III (Karen-deceased), Hillsborro, Oregon; William Parent (Robin), Riverdale, Utah; Charles Parent, Roy, Utah; daughter Gerri L. Velasquez (Paul), Syracuse, Utah. Brother Bob White (Marietta) Ogden, Utah, 21 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and her best friend Wren Clark, Uinta, Utah.
