Malcolm Alexander Mackenzie Obituary (1938 - 2006)

OGDEN - Malcolm Alexander MacKenzie, 67, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at his home. He was born December 10, 1938 in Sydney, Australia to Alexander Claude MacKenzie and Edith Hines MacKenzie. He grew up and attended junior high in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, high school in Beirut, Lebanon, and graduated from Weber State College in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He belonged to a group called the Aramco Brats. He married Lynda E. Iverson on May 10, 1963 in Ogden, Utah. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1964 and worked as a civilian as a computer programmer until he retired in March 1993. Malcolm was a member of the Catholic Church. He was baptized at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Bahrein in Saudi Arabia. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a love of the outdoors and motorcycling, riding his ATV, boating, camping and traveling. He also enjoyed repairing computers for all, reading and square dancing. Surviving are his wife Lynda Emilar MacKenzie; children, Alexander "Bryan" (Becky) MacKenzie, Eden, UT; Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann Reed; Malynda "Mini" MacKenzie; Robert "Bobby" Earl MacKenzie; all of Ogden; eight grandchildren; A 1/2 great grandchild; and one brother John (Mayela) MacKenzie, Fort Hancock, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Scott James, parents-in-laws Dale and Elaine Iverson, and sister Laurie McDonald. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at the mortuary. In celebration of his life, a gathering for friends will be held on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Bryan's home in Eden, 4945 East 2775 North.
