Mandie Lyn Moss Obituary (1979 - 2006)

Mandie Lyn Moss OGDEN - Our beloved daughter, sister (hermana), and friend, returned home to her Father in Heaven on February 8th, 2006 at McKay-Dee Hospital from a short illness. She was born June 20th, 1979 in Ogden, UT to Dennis and Juleen Moss. She grew up in Farr West, and attended Fremont High School where she was active in the choirs, many clubs, received several awards, and also volunteered at McKay-Dee Hospital. She attended Weber State University and received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. She then served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Long Beach, CA. Spanish speaking mission. Upon returning, she worked several jobs at one time while attending WSU where she received a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. She attended the Utah Law Enforcement Police Academy graduating in 2004. Currently, she was working as a deputy for the Weber County Sheriff's office serving in the courts division. Mandie loved serving people in all aspects of her life, and enjoyed being with the people she worked with. She was an active member in the LDS church and was currently called as a service missionary in a Spanish branch in Ogden, and was the primary chorister and a Cub Scout Den leader. She loved being with the children and the youth. She thrived on adventures, enjoying camping, traveling, and snowboarding. Mandie had an excellent memory and loved to quote many movies and scriptures. She had a spunky, outspoken sense of humor, with a hint of sarcasm. She was gifted and talented in music and fluent in Spanish. She had a zest for life, and embraced each challenge head on. She loved all people unconditionally regardless of their circumstances. There was a special place in her heart for all Spanish people. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Betty White and grandfather Jacob Post Jr. She is survived by her parents; siblings Jimmy (Jen) Moss, Riverdale; Rachael (Cameron) Tiede, Monrovia, CA; Darcie Moss, Farr West; Emilie (Brock) Costley, Ogden; Jake, Josh and Kristie Moss, all of Farr West; and her grandparents Wayne and Anna Mae Moss of Ogden. She is also survived by her close boyfriend Alberto Delgado; and her favorite niece and nephews Jessica, Joey, Jarod and Jaden, and many other family members. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and had a strong testimony which she wasn't afraid to share with others. She will be greatly missed by her family and by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Farr West 1st Ward Chapel, 1800 North 1800 West, with President Kurt Rifleman officiating. Friends may call at Farr West 1st Ward Chapel on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Memorial Gardens at the Wasatch.
