Manny Martinez Obituary (1947 - 2018)

("Manny") 1947 ~ 2018 On January 29, 2018 at 5:04 PM our family lost an amazing father, brother, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle and friend. Manuel B. Martinez is now reunited with his loving wife Linda. Whom proceed him in death on February 4, 2013. He was born March 12,1947 in Lumberton, New Mexico a son of Rojelio and Brinilde (Gallegos) Martinez. Manny was raised in Durango Colorado, where he received his education. He enlisted in the U.S Army and served proudly in the Vietnam conflict he received a Purple heart. He was very proud to serve his country. He married Linda Marquez on May 10, 1968 in Ogden Utah. They raised four children together. Manny was very social and outgoing wherever he was. He very much enjoyed playing racquetball, basketball, going to the gym, coaching and boxing. He coached during his service in Germany. Manny also boxed for many years. Manny loved life to the fullest and got to do the things he enjoyed. Most he taught many life lessons to his family. He loved to meet people and had an unforgettable sense of humor; "sweetie pie", "Knucklehead's" and Rookie were some of his favorites. Manny is survived by his children; Billy Ray (Stephanie) Martinez, Patricia Ann Martinez, Juno (Opal) Martinez, Melanie (Julio) Marquez. He raised and educated his granddaughter, Jeniffer (Christopher) Rodriquez. Survived also by 11 Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. Survived by siblings; Ross (Priscilla) Martinez, Frank Martinez, Leroy Martinez, Elsie Turrubiartez, and Mary Duarte. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his special friend, Margie. Manny was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda, Parents, brothers Albert and Arthur. Family would like to give a special thank you to McKay Dee staff. Graveside services will be held Friday February 2, 2018, 11:00 A.M Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd, Ogden. A viewing will be held Thursday February 1, 2018 from 6-8pm at Myers Mortuary 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden. With Memory sharing beginning at 7:30 pm.
