On Saturday, January 20, 2018, our sweet mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Margaret Bybee, 74, passed from this life into the next after courageously dealing with serious health issues for several years.

Margaret was born on September 27, 1943 in Ogden, Utah to parents Kennard Leland and May Crawford Bybee. Margaret attended West Point Elementary where she relished in performing in the annual Operettas and graduated from Davis High School. Margaret was a proud Dart and enjoyed the rivalries when her team played against the high school teams for her children as much as they did.

Margaret married Bevan Ipson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 1, 1964. As a young wife, Margaret liked to go bowling with her husband. Margaret worked as a waitress and as a teacher's assistant for the Head Start program to help support her family of 5 children. Margaret and Bevan divorced in 1979.

Before she became ill, Margaret volunteered her time as a room mother at her children's elementary school. She also enjoyed making and painting ceramics, made homemade candies, and wrote poems and stories. Margaret loved listening to music, especially country music, the "Oldies", and hymns sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Margaret could sing like an angel and she passed this talent on to some of her granddaughters.

Margaret served as the housing Resident Council President for the Golden Links manor and enjoyed organizing parties and activities for the residents. Margaret also volunteered to set up the commons room on Sundays for LDS sacrament meeting.

One of the highlights of Margaret's life was working with the Foster Grandparent program. She truly enjoyed being with the students and staff at Club Heights Elementary where she had the privilege of helping struggling students learn to read.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Ken Bybee; her son-in-law Mike Sanchez, and her companion dog, Bear. Margaret is survived by her children Anna (Wayne) Gudgell, Carol (Robert) Franks, Tamyra Sanchez, Ida Ipson and Kenneth Ipson; her grandchildren Erica (Kevin) Deeben, Trista (Jared) Whitaker, Hope Franks, Bethany Gudgell, Shaun (Elle) Franks, Faith Gudgell, Kira Gudgell, McKenna Kies, Karill Sanchez, and Demi Sanchez; her great-grandchildren Addison Whitaker, Ephraim Franks, and Christian Deeben. She is also survived by her siblings Jolene (Ronald) Stewart, Carol (Edward) Fowler, Gail Betts, and Sharon Jorgensen and her special companion dog, Sassie.

A viewing will be held at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 and Saturday, January 27th from 12 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.

Margaret's children wish to thank Dr. Justin Mansfield, Canyon Homecare and Hospice, and the many wonderful people in the medical field who have taken care of our mother's medical needs over the last 16 years. You have been a blessing to her life and to ours.
