Margaret Lilly Thompson

ROY -- Mrs. Lilly Thompson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the home of her son in Selah, Washington, surrounded by her family.

Lilly was born October 3, 1920 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Thorlief and Margaret Larsen. She lived in the Ogden and Roy area and attended Ogden City Schools. She graduated from Ogden High School.

She married Don Jay Thompson on October 7, 1942 in Evanston, Wyoming. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on November 10, 1953. Don preceded her in death on January 18, 1977.

Lilly was employed by the U.S. Government, retiring from the IRS in 1982. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church in the Roy 4th ward. She lived in Roy for 46 years then moved to Selah, Washington in 2006 at the age of 85.

Lilly's passion in her life was her love for her sons, their families and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to go shopping and out to lunch with her girlfriends. She also loved to go camping, fishing and to the beach with the great-grandchildren. "Mom, thank you for the many fond memoriesa"we will always treasure them."

Surviving are her two sons, Bruce J. and Sue Thompson of Evanston, WY; Brent D. and Lark Thompson of Selah, WA. Her five grandchildren, Jodi Thompson, Jace Thompson, Travis and Emily Thompson, Trent and Sarah Thompson, Trisha and Craig Spaeth; her great-grandchildren, Carson, Cody and Connor Thompson; Carley, Baily and Ty Thompson and Taylor and Tanner Spaeth.

Also surviving are her two sisters, Belva and Bob Arnell of Stockton, CA; Ellen Joy Wessman of Roy, UT and one brother, Lamar Larsen of San Pueblo, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Norman and Eugene Larsen; and one grandson, Kent Jay Thompson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, where family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Meadow View Cemetery, 2150 N. 5300 E., Eden, Utah.
