Marguerite Noorda Van Alfen

OGDEN - Marguerite Noorda Van Alfen, 93, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at Wasatch Care Center from causes incident to age.

She was born April 19, 1909 at her home in Ogden, to Henry and Marie Bernards Noorda. She married Gerrit "Jerry" Johan Van Alfen on September 27, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, he preceded her in death on August 21, 1958.

She was a member of the LDS church, where she had been active as Relief Society president, Primary worker, Missionary to the Netherlands, and Stake Young Women's presidency.

She was a matron in Modesto California City Schools before retiring.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Ronald J. (Patricia) Van Alfen, Ogden; Neal K. (Pam) Van Alfen, and Marcia (Jerry) Dixon, both of California; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Noorda and Glen Noorda, both of Ogden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
