BRIGHAM CITY - Maria "Carmen" Olivia Minjares Godfrey, 61 passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010.
Maria was born on January 16, 1949 in Zacatecas, Mexico a daughter of Anna Maria Gonzalez and Francisco Minjares.
She married Michael Godfrey on September 2, 1969 in Brigham City, they were later divorced.
She enjoyed the outdoors, horses, hunting and family. Maria worked as an Animal Control Officer in Brigham City for 17 years, she owned and operated Whispering Pines Log Furniture Store for 6 years and then worked for Stone River Bronze. She has lived in Brigham City since 1977.
Surviving are her children: Michael John (Amy) Godfrey Jr., Wisconsin; Monica Jennice Towler, Brigham City; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Andres (Marilyn) Minjares, Brigham City; Aurora (Karl) Wangler, CA; Lupe (Doug) Cannon, Kentucky; Adrian Minjares, Tucson, AZ; Sandra (Bruce) Ellis, West Point and Francisca Gogot, Tucson, AZ.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City.
Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Mortuary.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
