Marjorie Childs Teichert
1923 - 2011

Marjorie Abbie Childs Teichert, 88, passed away peacefully July 21, 2011 at Davis Hospital shortly following hip surgery.

Marjorie was born to Clarence Moroni and Harriet Rosetta (Conrad) Childs on January 17, 1923 in Gunnison, Utah. She was blessed with loving parents, devoted brothers, Courtney and Raymond, and a supportive extended family of relatives and kind friends. Her childhood was spent riding horses, swimming, bicycling, and exploring in beautiful Heber Valley where she learned to play the piano, crochet, sew, drive, cook, and play the alto sax in the high school band. She attended the University of Utah and LDS Business College. During that time she met Robert Henri Teichert. They married on February 23, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. Their 6 children were the center of Marjorie's life. She lived a life of service to family, church, neighbors, and friends. As the family moved for Bob's schooling and work, Marjorie served faithfully in many callings; Relief Society President, teacher, chorister, counselor, and temple worker. Bob and Marjorie served a full-time mission to the Washington D.C. temple during 1986-87. She made lifetime friends wherever she lived. Marjorie loved learning. She typed countless papers helping her husband through school, she read continually, and increased her knowledge daily. She created beautiful quilts, afghans, and other handiwork that she generously gave to others. Her flower beds were lovely and often shared. She had a gift of making people feel special. Her beautiful blue eyes sparkled with her sense of humor and kindness as she graciously listened and interacted with interest and wisdom. Her children truly call her blessed. Preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, son, Conrad, and grandson, Paul R. Teichert. Surviving children: Marsha Kinghorn, Fredrick (Dalene) Teichert, Paul (Cheryl) Teichert, Robin (Dick) Knight, Barbara (Blaine) Tew, daughter-in-law Diane Teichert. She has 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
