Marjorie Mayfield Bambrough Thompson
Roy - On June 22, 2023 our beautiful sweet mother went to her Heavenly Home.
Margee was born Jan 24, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Vernon and Melba Mayfield. She grew up in Davis and Weber Counties and graduated from Weber High School. She overcame many hardships in her childhood and was always able to overcome adversity.
On March 23, 1956, Mom married our dad, Don C. Bambrough. They had 4 children together and we had a wonderful childhood growing up in Riverdale. They later divorced and remained friends.
Margee was an amazing mother and cared for her entire family like a Mother Bear all her days. She was a great example of endurance, love, and unwavering faith.
During her time as a Certified Nursing Assistant in home health, Margee was admired for her dedication, kindness, and tireless work ethic. She loved sewing, canning, sharing her talents with those around her and quilting with her special quilting group. A skilled genealogist, Margee was deeply committed to her family's history and served as a valued member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Her devotion to her faith was evident in her service to her Wards, including the Riverdale 49th Ward and Monte Vista Ward, where she held callings in Young Women's, Relief Society, and Primary on Ward and Stake levels. She also enjoyed her experience as a Service Missionary on Temple Square as an usher at the Conference Center with her sister Kathy.
Margee is survived by her loving children, Cal (Lesa) Bambrough, Ann Bambrough, Julie (Craig) Beus, and her lone surviving sibling Bill Mayfield (AZ). She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 29 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews she loved as her own.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Chad Ezra Bambrough; her beloved husband, Gordon Earl Thompson, who she was sealed to in the Ogden Temple in 1999; her parents, Vernon Mayfield and Melba Wade; her siblings, Kathy Larkins, Betty Buckmaster, Bob Mayfield, and her half-brother Gary Wade; and her great-grandson Max Kelson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Enhabit Hospice for their loving care, especially Jenn and Dr. Seth Lewis, Tammy, and Renato, as well as nieces Kami Mayfield and Angie Saunders.
