Mark Dulane Owens Obituary (1980 - 2001)

OGDEN - On Tuesday, Jan 23, 2001, Mark Dulane Owens left his earthly life to be eternally united with the LORD. Although Mark never realized his dream of being a football hero, he died a hero saving his precious daughter Ashley's life by pushing her out of the way of the oncoming car which struck and killed him. Mark was a very hard worker and was employed as a laborer at Brinkerhoff Excavation. Mark was a member of The First Baptist Church of Roy, and was known by all as a loving husband and father. Surviving are his wife Crystal Hipwell Owens; his son Colton, his daughter Ashley, and a baby on the way. Also surviving are his mother and step-father, Connie and David Watkins of Ogden; his father Mark Owens Sr. of Snowflake, Arizona; brothers, Trent, Jesse and Colton of Ogden; sisters, Danielle Owens and Shannon Smith; grandfathers, Arthur T. Sant, Howard M. Owens, and Bill Hill; grandmothers, Cecilia Hill of Idaho; Mina Rose of Colorado; and many relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
