Marlin Sanford Horton
Together Again
CLEARFIELDa"Marlin (Morley) Sanford Horton passed away August 25, 2004 ending a long and valiant battle with Alzheimer disease.
He was born in Eureka, Utah on April 9, 1921 to Marlin and Helen Sanford Horton. He met the love of his life, a Utah girl from Meadow, and married her on July 31, 1939. Marlin and Percival (Babe) Adams remained partners in life for 58 years. Babe preceded him in death in July 1997.
He was a life long resident of Utah except for a short period during World War II while serving in the U.S. Army. Returning to Utah after the war he worked for International Harvester as a shop supervisor and later as an insurance adjuster for Farmers Insurance Company.
He was a past member of the National Rifle Association. He loved fishing, hunting and camping, especially when accompanied by his grandchildren. He would unabashedly tell anyone who would listen that Utah was the only state worth living in.
