Marsha Gilbert Rich Bowman Obituary (1937 - 2004)

MARSHA GILBERT RICH BOWMAN ROY - On June 14, 2004 at the age of 66, Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, lost her battle with cancer, and was called home to sing with the angels. She peacefully left while at home surrounded by her family and her loyal pets. She was born August 10, 1937 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Frank and Hazel Hull Gilbert. She married V. Dale Bowman Sr. on July 17, 1959 in the Logan Temple. Marsha was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Roy 2nd Ward, where she served as Ward and Primary Chorister, Stake music coordinator and Special Needs Mutual music director. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Marsha was employed at Roy High School for the past 28 years as the attendance secretary, and was very dedicated to all of Roy High school's activities. She had a lifetime of musical talents which include: Singing with the Ogden Community Choir, playing and teaching the viola, violin and voice, and inspiring many with her musical touch. She was Miss Roy and Miss Missile in 1955. She loved scrap booking, her yard, and Halloween, but most of all her grandkids, her '69' Buick Skylark, and also going to car shows with her brother. Marsha touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her husband V. Dale Bowman Sr., Roy; children: Debra (Richard) Peek, South Weber; Diana Bowman, and V. Dale Bowman Jr. both of Ogden; Dawn (Corey) Nelson, Roy; six grandchildren: Jennie, Travis, Ryan and Spencer Peek, Shaelyn Bowman and McGwire Nelson. Also surviving are her step-mother, Lois Gilbert and life long friend Denese Checketts. Surviving are brothers and sisters, Darrell (Merlene) Gilbert, Slaterville; Mark (Shirley) Rich, AZ; Carl (Diane) Gilbert, North Ogden; Vicky (Roy) Nelson, Farr West; Debbie (Mene) Wong, Willard and sister-in-law, Marion Gilbert, Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Mark Rich, one brother, Dean Gilbert and one sister, Cathy Biddle.
