Martha Fleming

–

Roy, Utah

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Martha Pearl Fleming on October 1, 2026. Born on November 3, 1940, in Elkton, Ohio, Martha's life was a tapestry of spirited joy, witty humor, generous giving, and courageous strength. Known for her vibrant spirit, Martha's laughter was as infectious as her unwavering faith. She was a beloved member of the Roy Christian Church, where she cherished Sunday mornings and the community of faith she found there. As the scripture says, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" (Matthew 25:23)

Martha was a woman of many journeys. Having grown up in Elkton, Ohio, she met the love of her life and embarked on a journey that took her from South Dakota to Germany, and back to South Dakota, before finally settling in Roy, Utah. From cheering on the Utah Jazz and the Denver Broncos, to enjoying concerts and her fun trips to Wendover to "Win It Big," Martha embraced life with a vivacious spirit. Above all Martha enjoyed a nice Coca Cola, watching the humming birds, waiting for new photos of her great grandchildren and sitting on the couch watching out the windows keeping the neighborhood safe!

Martha is survived by her sons, Steven Fleming and Jesse (Jennifer) Fleming; her grandchildren, Skyler (Rebecca) Fleming, Stephanie Fleming, Hayley (Brandon) Olson, Carter Stockdale, and Olivia (Weston) Hart. She is also survived by her sisters, Dora Jarvis and Linda Iscenschmid, and a brother, Joseph Chidester. Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steve, her parents, Jesse and Helen Chidester, her siblings, Mary Nicholson, Helen Clark, Darlene Knarr, Debbie Chidester, Dean Chidester, David Chidester, Carolyn Dauwe, Nancy Brink, and Jesse Chidester.
