Martha Jane Lemmons Obituary (1924 - 2009)

CLINTON /WEST POINT - Martha Jane Lemmons, "Grandma Jane" passed away peacefully on October 4, 2009. She was born October 22, 1924 in Kanab and raised in Toquerville, the daughter of Archie and LaVerna Bringhurst. She married Merle Lemmons on July 15, 1944 in the St. George LDS Temple. He died in 1964. Grandma Jane is survived by two sons, Richard (Shirley) Lemmons, West Point and Rawland (Judy) Lemmons, Clinton. Six grandchildren, Stephanie Harmon (Quin), Brian (Stacey) Lemmons, Brad (Trina) Lemmons, Doug (Jen) Lemmons, Lisa (Billy) Schofield all of West Point and April (Shane) Kearsley of Hooper, and 20 great-grandchildren. A brother, Buddy (Vina) Bringhurst, and sisters Vi (Dale) Wilson of LaVerkin, Utah, Katherine Cornelius and Dolle Dado, Virgin, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Geraldine Thompson. Jane retired from Hill AFB in 1975. She was an LDS Temple Ordinance Worker in the St. George and Ogden Temples and served an LDS mission to Louisiana and Mississippi in 1977. She lived with Rawland and Judy for 27 years and the past three years she called "The Family Tree" home. Family will meet with friends on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 6-7 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W. Roy. Graveside services will be on Thursday, October 8th at 1 p.m. in the Hurricane City Cemetery, 850 N. 225 E. Hurricane. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the LDS Church Missionary Fund.
