Marvin (Ez) George Carter Obituary (1931 - 2014)

Marvin (Ez) George Carter 1931 - 2014 Our father, grandfather and friend, Marvin George Carter, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2014. He was born on August 21, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to George William and Edna Houghton Carter. He was married to June Saxton, they spent 30 years together. Marvin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And enjoyed visiting with his home teachers. He worked at Swifts Meat and retired from both Thiokol and Williams International as an inspector. Marvin loved building and working on guns, reloading ammunition and was an avid shooter and hunter, winning many awards for his shooting. It could be said that "Ez has forgotten more about guns than most people ever knew." He loved reading all things western. Most people considered themselves fortunate to be a recipient of his woodworking skills. He is survived by his children, Connie (Jim) Robison of Tremonton, Karen Lee (Rex) Judkins and Brock (Holly) Carter , both of Roy and Quinn (Bonnie) Carter of St. George; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. All lovingly knew him as "Grandpa Bug." He was preceded in death by his parents; and his best buddy, "Bandit." Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Huntsville Cemetery, 6375 E. 100 S. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 1st from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd .
