Mary Rose Lopez Byrum

Mary Lopez Byrum passed away March 11, 2011. She was born to Manual and Sorida Madrid Lopez on March 27, 1953 in Ogden, UT. She married Mike Freestone, later divorced, and then married George Checkets; they later divorced, but remained good friends.
She married Elmer Byrum on March 27, 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer; three children, Wendy Meibos, West Valley, UT, Mike Freestone, Syracuse, UT, and Shawn Checkets, SLC, UT; her father, Manuel; sisters, Sandra (Joe) Valerio, Layton, UT, Sodi (Reuben) Curls, OK; brothers, Roger Lopez and Mike Lopez, Layton, UT; half sister, Lorrie (Joey) Richmond, Layton, UT; half brother, Tony Lopez, Layton, UT; pets, Sierra and Bell.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Syracuse 7th Ward Chapel, 6025 South 1100 West. Services under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Layton.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the mortuary to off- set funeral expenses.
