MARY S. CARDENAS

BRIGHAM CITY- Our dear mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away suddenly surrounded by her family on January 29, 2003. Our hearts are broken and we'll miss her laughter, kindness and goodness. Her loves in life were her family and many great friends. Once again she is with those she has loved and passed on before her.

Our mother was born November 8, 1930 to Marcelo and Josefa Silva. She married our dad, Ben, on October 29, 1950. They had four children.

She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church servicing wherever she was needed.

Our mother enjoyed being with family and friends. She liked to crochet and make quilts for her family. She also enjoyed making tamales and cooking for the family at reunions and other family gathering. She had a special knack for gardening and enjoyed that as well -- like the "infamous tree," ha-ha Mom! She also enjoyed her Wendover trips with family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters Jane (special son-in-law, Larry), Elaine and two sons, Frank and Dan; seven grandchildren (Kym, Ryan, Brandon, Jamie, Megan, Stephanie, Jesse, and Skyler.); nine great-grandchildren (Shaunessy, Patrick, Gabe, David, Bree, Brigham, Brek, Kelsey, & Jesse); brother, Elidio, three sisters Juana, Felix, and Estelle; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and five brothers (Domingo, Pat, Ebbie, Tony, & Marcello).

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 380 S. 200 E., Brigham City.
Viewing and a Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mortuary.
Internment will be at Brigham City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of our mother.
