Mary Fujikawa Kawaguchi

SYRACUSE - Mary Masuye Fujikawa Kawaguchi, age 74, passed away peacefully Monday, September 13, 2010 in her home after a short battle with leukemia.

Born to Kenzo and Hatsumi Honda Fujikawa on May 6, 1936, in Brigham City, Utah. Mary graduated from Box Elder High School in 1954. She worked for the Davis School District Food Service for 23 years, retiring in May 2008. She married Deb Hideharu Kawaguchi on January 25, 1964, and had three
children. Mary dedicated her life to her family. She was proud of them and their
achievements and especially loved her three grandchildren, who were her biggest joy.

Despite many challenges she faced in life, she was always an example of love, dedication and service to others. She rarely thought of herself, and there was nothing she wouldn't do for her husband and those she loved. Mary was a very special lady and made friends with everyone and will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mary is survived by her children, Deana (Phil) Padelsky, Syracuse, UT; Darren Kawaguchi, West Point, UT; and Dawn Kawaguchi, Syracuse, UT; grandchildren, Kirk, McCall and Dawson Padelsky; siblings, Kenji Fujikawa, Nobe Fujikawa, Kaneso (Sachi)
Fujikawa, Sachi Kubosumi, Shigeo (Frieda) Fujikawa, and Yuzo (Kiyoko) Fujikawa; and many other cherished family members and friends.

We would like to thank the entire staff at LDS Hospital BMT Clinic for taking special care of our mother. A special thanks to Dr. Asch, Jared, and Andy, her physical therapist. We would also like to thank all our family and friends who
have helped us through this very hard year. We love you so much!

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Roy. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery, 1225 South 1000 West, Syracuse, UT.
