(Mary) Coleen Maybury
SYRACUSE - (Mary) Coleen Maybury, our beautiful wife, mother, and sister returned home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 18th after a valiant 18 year battle with lupus. Her vibrant personality, infectious smile, which lit up the room, and unquenchable optimism will be missed profoundly.
Coleen was born September 24th , 1965, in Ogden Utah to Rex J. and Donna E. Howell. She graduated from Bonneville high school in 1983 where she was a member of the Lakettes drill team, one of the greatest joys of her youth. She married her eternal sweetheart and the love of her life David B. Maybury on July 12, 1984 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with three beautiful children who they raised together while living in both Roy and Syracuse. Being a mother was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment and she considered it to be the greatest blessing afforded her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Dale Leon Howell and Rex Jay Howell. She is survived by her husband and three children, David G. ( Tausha) Maybury, Colista A. Maybury, Cherrelle L. Maybury, her brother Donald Ray Howell (Ronette), Donna Kaleen Warmbo (Lyle) and their families.
Coleen was an angel sent to us from Heavenly Father. Her selfless acts of kindness, her self sacrificing nature, and the service she rendered to others even while ill herself are evidence of her huge loving heart and deep abiding love of the gospel. This charity endeared her to all who met her and knew her. She was a great wife, mother, and sister. Among her most charitable acts was caring for both her ailing mother and mother-in-law at the end of their own lives. She eased their suffering at the expense of her own health and left us with a legacy for which we will be eternally grateful and for which she will be richly rewarded.
Coleen's greatest happiness was any time spent with her family especially camping, family drives, movie nights, and Disneyland. She was very skilled at home crafts her favorites being cross stitching, scrap-booking, cooking and making infants blankets. Her home is adorned with her work and leaves those of who will miss her most with sweet memories. These masterpieces brought much joy and light into our home and are a perpetual reminder that she was indeed the heart of our home.
The Holidays, especially Christmas, were her favorite time of the year. Even though it leaves us feeling lost and grieving, it is fitting that she was given the gift of having her pain and suffering ended at this time of year.
For those of us that love her so dearly there is so much that will be deeply missed, from her ice crunching to her "fanangaling" of the English language. We love you, we miss you and can't wait to be with you again. We are the luckiest and you are most definitely the best. Goodbye for now until we meet again
