Huntsville - Mary Edna Allen Melle passed away December 17, 2011 of natural causes. Edna was born December 26, 1918 to Alma Allen and Mary Ann Wood in Riverdale, Utah. Edna attended Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High.
She married Lind Edward Melle June 1, 1938; later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. They ranched in Haines, Ore. for 10 years before returning to Huntsville. Lind passed away February 7, 1999 after 51 years of marriage.

She was a member of the LDS Church and held many positions in the church. She was a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers where she held office , serving a term as captain.

Edna enjoyed genealogy, crocheting, quilt making, sewing, handiwork and keeping a weather journal.

Edna is survived by two daughters and one son, June (David) Burch, Virginia (Jerry deceased) Leavitt, Allen (Debbie) Melle; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lena Allen and sister-in-law, Pearl Allen.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers; two sisters and a son-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Huntsville LDS Church, 277 S. 7400 E. Friends may call on Monday, December 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and Tuesday, prior to the service at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, in the Huntsville City Cemetery.
