Mary "Joan" McEntire Parker

ROY -- Joan Parker, 78, died Friday, January 15, 2010 from complications due to a lengthy illness. She was born October 11, 1931 to Howard Witten and Bessie Eva Woodward McEntire. She married Boyd George Parker in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 21, 1952; he died September 29, 2007.

Joan lived in Hooper and Roy most of her life. Joan and Boyd served two LDS missions and she currently was a Sunday School teacher at her Monte Vista Ward.

She retired from First Security Bank and was active in her church callings.

She is survived by two daughters, Kelly (Kirt) Linford, West Weber, Julie (Wayne) Parker-Bell, Roy; and a son, Stuart Parker, Ogden; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a twin sister, Jean M. Coleman, Roy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah where family will greet friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Roy City Cemetery, 5200 S. 2300 W. in Roy, UT.
