Mary Anna Whitehead

Mary Anna Murray Whitehead, 75, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at her home from Parkinson's on October 13, 2006 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 5, 1931 in Wellsville, Utah, the daughter of Henry Bailey and Mary Darley Murray. She married her sweetheart, Junior Darrell Whitehead on August 5, 1948. On their 50th wedding anniversary, they were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Rock Cliff 6th Ward. She worked for and retired from DelMed.

Her life's focus was to provide a happy, fun-filled home for her family. She loved to make others happy with her bright smile and energetic spirit. Family and friends could find her diligently working in her home and yard, going to garage sales, decorating and planning fun parties for her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed exercising, watching the Jazz, spending time in the mountains at Sourdough and riding around in her show car, a fully restored 1965 Ford Mustang. Her greatest rewards were her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband "Jay"; five children, Susan (Bob) Morris; Craig (Sandy) Whitehead; Lori A. Tolsma; Kevin (Shari) Whitehead; Murray (Gina) Whitehead; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Pauline Peart and Shirlee (Eldon) Teeples; two brothers, Oral Murray and John D. (Rena) Murray.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Murray; two brothers, Boyd and Carl Murray; two sons, Steven and Kim Whitehead, and one granddaughter, Mikell Morris.

She will be missed by all of her family and friends. May the sunshine and memories she brought into each of our lives continue on in her legacy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Wellsville Cemetery.
