Melaquias Mike Gallegos Obituary (1925 - 2010)

Melaquias "Mike" Gallegos Ogden - Melaquias "Mike" Gallegos, 85, passed away December 30, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital. He was born January 26, 1925 in San Miguel, New Mexico the son of Salustiano Tiano and Florina Garcia Gallegos. Mike married Eleanor Mary Gallegos September 6, 1949 in Texas. Mike was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He worked at the Mines in Colo., Shipping Yards in San Francisco, Denver Mint, and at Cache Valley Electric. He was a very creative craftsman and enjoyed yard-work, camping and spending time with the kids and grandkids. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Gallegos; children, John Gallegos, Michael (Carol) Gallegos, Sandra Gallegos, and JoAnn (Steve) Padilla; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also his sisters, Angelina Chavez of Alamosa, Lucy (Chris) Cisneros, Maria (Joe) Martinez both of Canyon CO; brothers, Abe (Caroline) Gallegos of Plain City, UT., Valdamar Gallegos of Colo. Springs, Richard (Carol) Gallegos of Ortiz Co., Val (Frances) Gallegos of Canyon, CO. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; his father Salustiano; mother, Florina and brother Bonny Gallegos. The family would like to thank the staff at McKay and the Hospice Care Unit.
