Melissa Schooley, 53, passed away December 14 very unexpectedly in her sleep. She was born February 11, 1962 to Eliana Olvido Perez and Ivan Ellis Pritchett. As a youth growing up in Logan, UT, Melissa enjoyed music, friends, family and life. Melissa was a kind and loving person and this was apparent by her chosen career in her work with at-risk youth. Since Melissa's unexpected passing many former students have expressed their shock, sadness and love for Melissa. She had a special connection to those children and always gave them a reason to believe in themselves. She gave repeatedly and unconditionally and never asked or expected anything in return.
Melissa married Joel Patrick Schooley on February 29, 1980 and had two beautiful daughters, Megan and Mallory. Though the marriage did not last they have remained great friends. Melissa was a beautiful soul and words do not do justice for how greatly she will be missed.

Melissa is preceded in death by her mother Eliana Pritchett, her father Ivan Pritchett and her sister Gloria Pritchett. Melissa is survived by her daughters Megan (Shane) Keyes, and Mallory Schooley, her most cherished granddaughter Lilyana Keyes and her sister Cynthia (Joe) Jurgensen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to services.
